The Embassy of China in Indonesia stated today (Aug. 30) that large-scale demonstrations have recently occurred in Jakarta and multiple other cities across Indonesia. Local police stations, train stations, and government buildings have been set ablaze, resulting in casualties among Indonesian personnel.
The Embassy reminds Chinese citizens and institutions in Indonesia to enhance safety precautions, closely monitor local developments, minimize non-essential travel, avoid protest crowds and affected areas, and steer clear of densely populated locations. In case of emergencies, please contact local police promptly and seek assistance from the Chinese Embassy or Consulates in Indonesia.
