To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the victory in the World Anti-Fascist War and the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, the Filipino-Chinese Amity Club and the WhaChi Veterans Descendants Association jointly organized a photo exhibition. The exhibition recently held its grand opening at Lucky Chinatown Mall in Manila's Binondo district.
As attendees gazed at the precious images documenting the flames of war and rebirth, Wang Yulei, Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines, emphasized that history must not be forgotten.
"The war eight decades ago brought profound devastation to humanity, and its lessons remain worthy of remembrance and reflection today."
She highlighted that the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, as the main eastern battlefield, made an indelible contribution to the victory of the World Anti-Fascist War. The Philippines also suffered deeply from the war, with countless overseas Chinese and local Filipinos fighting side by side against the invaders.
Wangcalled for drawing lessons from history, carrying forward the spirit of anti-fascism, preventing the recurrence of such tragedies, and working together to safeguard peace and create a brighter future for humanity.
