At 11:00 a.m. local time on Aug. 19, Keeta officially launched its services in Doha, the capital of Qatar. This marks another breakthrough for Meituan's international business in the Middle East following its entry into Saudi Arabia. Moving forward, Keeta plans to deepen its presence in the Middle East, expanding gradually into more countries and regions within the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC). The company also announced plans to enter the Brazilian market within the next few months.
Keeta explained that its successful operations in Saudi Arabia prompted the choice of Qatar as its second destination in the Middle East. Qatar, one of the world's wealthiest economies by GDP per capita, offers significant growth potential in the food delivery market.
Keeta is committed to providing Qatari users with a superior food delivery experience while supporting the sustainable development of local restaurant partners, delivery riders, and other collaborators. The company also aims to contribute to the growth of Qatar's digital economy.
Keeta first entered the Middle East in September 2024 with its launch in Saudi Arabia, where it has now secured a top-three market share. At the end of July, Keeta further expanded its service coverage in Saudi Arabia, increasing from nine core cities to 20 cities, achieving near-complete national coverage.
