Today, Aug. 15, the 2025 Southern China Book Fair officially kicked off, with Wendelin Van Draanen, the author of "Flipped," making an appearance at the event.
When asked how she felt meeting her Chinese readers, she couldn't hold back her tears and admitted she was deeply moved: "It makes me cry. Actually, it's very emotional for me. My story has made it around the world and has touched so many hearts here. It's a very emotional thing for me."
"Flipped" is a novel by Wendelin Van Draanen that tells a heartwarming story about the interactions between a boy and a girl during their teenage years. The novel was later adapted into a well-known film of the same name, directed by Rob Reiner and starring Callan McAuliffe and Madeline Carroll.
