At 8:00 p.m. on Aug. 7, the opening ceremony of the 2025 Chengdu World Games was held at the outdoor area of the "Tianfu Roof" in the Chengdu Tianfu International Convention Center. With the theme "Boundless Sports, Countless Wonders", the ceremony seamlessly blended Sichuan culture, technological creativity, and the spirit of sportsmanship.
In the morning of Aug. 7, the pre-game press conference for the Chengdu World Games took place at the Main Media Center. The Chengdu World Games features a total of 34 major events, 60 sub-events, and 256 minor events.
The competition has attracted 6,679 participants, including athletes, team officials, and technical officials from 116 countries and regions. Among them, there are 3,942 athletes, making this the largest and most attended World Games in history.
