According to CNN, US President Trump unleashed on the Israelis and the Iranians on Tuesday (June 24), expressing his displeasure at continued fighting between the two adversaries after he announced the parameters of a ceasefire the day before.
"We basically — we have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don't know what the f‑‑‑ they're doing," Trump told reporters at the White House before taking off for a trip to The Hague for the NATO Summit.
Trump affirmed that he did not believe that the ceasefire was broken. But he said he was unhappy in particular with Israel, which he said quickly violated the truce.
"Israel, as soon as we made the deal they came out and they dropped a load of bombs, the likes of which I've never seen before," he said.
"I'm not happy with Israel. You know, when I say, 'OK, now you have 12 hours,' you don't go out to the first hour, just drop everything you have, so I'm not happy with them. I'm not happy with Iran either," saidTrump.
"ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!" Trump wrote on social media.
Just a short time later after departing the White House, Trump posted again on Truth Social to insist the ceasefire was in place.
"ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly 'Plane Wave' to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect! Thank you for your attention to this matter!" Trump said.
