Qatar temporarily closed its airspace on June 23, following a missile attack by Iran on the US Al Udeid Air Base. The action led to the suspension of all flights, including Qatar Airways flight QR815, which was scheduled to depart from Hong Kong to Doha at 1:25 a.m. on June 24. The sudden cancellation left over 100 passengers stranded at the boarding gate, sparking dissatisfaction against the airline's handling of the situation.

Around 1:00 a.m. HK time, Qatar Airways announced on its social media platforms that flight operations were temporarily halted due to the airspace closure. The airline stated that it was working closely with authorities and related departments to assist affected passengers.

At approximately 4:00 a.m., passengers were informed that the flight had been canceled. They were allowed to retrieve their luggage and cancel their tickets, but the airline offered no compensation, which further fueled passenger frustration and led to a brief commotion at the gate.

Qatar reopened its airspace at 5:10 a.m., and Qatar Airways promptly resumed its flight operations.

Meanwhile, Qatar Airways flight QR817, scheduled to depart HK for Doha at 7:40 p.m. on June 24, is currently listed as operating normally, with no reported disruptions.
