On June 16, the Women's Tennis Association (WTA) officially announced the latest world rankings. With the achievement of entering the first grass court semifinals in the WTA500 London Tournament, Chinese player Zheng Qinwen moved up one place this week and is ranked fourth in the world, setting a new personal high.

At the French Open earlier this month, Zheng Qinwen entered the women's singles quarterfinals for the first time in her career, but lost to her old rival, Belarusian star Sabalenka, in the quarterfinals. With the help of her performance in the French Open, Zheng Qinwen's world ranking rose from seventh to fifth, tying her previous personal highest ranking after last year's year-end finals.

Subsequently, in the WTA500 London Grass Court Tournament, Zheng Qinwen, the top seed of the tournament, played all the way to the women's singles semifinals, and unfortunately lost to Anisimova in three sets, missing the chance to advance to the grass court finals for the first time. After the end of the tournament, Zheng Qinwen's points exceeded those of Italian female tennis player Paolini, and her immediate ranking reached fourth in the world, setting a new career high.

At present, in the latest ranking updated by WTA, Sabalenka is still ranked first in the world with 11,553 points; American female tennis player Gauff, who just won the French Open, ranks second with 8,083 points; American female tennis player Jessica Pegula ranks third with 6,483 points. Zheng Qinwen has 4,853 points, slightly higher than Paolini's 4,805 points.

The WTA500 Berlin Station is about to start. On June 14, the WTA500 Berlin Station draw was released. Zheng Qinwen will face Rybakina, who is ranked 11th in the world, in the first round. In addition, Zheng Qinwen and Sabalenka are again in the same quarter zone. If both sides can successfully advance, they will meet in the third round, which means that the two are likely to play against each other for the ninth time. In the previous eight encounters, Zheng Qinwen only won once.
