According to Xinhua News Agency, China's fully self-developed AG600 amphibious aircraft has been granted a production license by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on June 11 in Zhuhai, Guangdong, marking its official entry into mass production.
Experts from the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) stated that the issuance of this license indicates that the applicant's quality system meets airworthiness regulations and can consistently produce aircraft that comply with design standards.
The development of the AG600 involved hundreds of suppliers and tens of thousands of components, showcasing China's comprehensive capabilities in designing and manufacturing large special-purpose aircraft, as well as in supply chain management and process consistency control. This success has also accumulated replicable management experience and technical standards for future domestic large special-purpose aircraft projects.
AVIC experts noted that the successful development of the AG600 has established a complete system for the design, production, testing, and support of large amphibious aircraft, enabling China to independently develop the technology and industrial capacity required for such aircraft. This represents a historic leap in the development of China's civil aviation industry in the large special-purpose aircraft sector.
Looking ahead, AVIC aims to address the urgent needs of China's emergency rescue system and national disaster prevention efforts by continuing to advance the series development of the AG600. This will further enhance the aviation emergency rescue service system and build a comprehensive rescue equipment system centered around the AG600.
