
May 31 is the Dragon Boat Festival public holiday. Secretary for Security Chris Tang stated on social media today (May 18) that cross-departmental teams are prepared to handle the holiday peak flow. He mentioned enhanced collaboration between the Security Bureau, Transport and Logistics Bureau, and Culture, Sports, and Tourism Bureau to improve visitor experiences.

Tang indicated that the "Emergency Monitoring and Support Centre" will be activated during the mainland's long holidays. In addition to real-time monitoring of border crossing traffic and pedestrian flows, it will strengthen coordination of district transportation and tourist hotspots to ensure smooth travel for visitors.

The center will commence operations during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday. Tang revealed he had already held meetings with his team in advance to enhance service quality at border checkpoints and transportation facilities, aiming to showcase Hong Kong's hospitality at the frontline.
