Former news presenter Maggie Leung has had a very successful career change since leaving TVB News in 2019. In addition to working as a host, a guest lecturer in the department of journalism at Hong Kong Baptist University's School of Communication, and a KOL (Key Opinion Leader), she also studied for a Master of Science in Speech and Pathology at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery, Faculty of Medicine, Chinese University of Hong Kong, and officially became a Department of Health-accredited speech therapist two years ago.

Recently, she shared another good news, posting a letter of appointment from the Hospital Authority, stating that she has been appointed as an Honorary Speech Therapist in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology. Netizens congratulated her and were very curious about her work, leaving comments asking her: "If you work for the government, can you no longer do KOL jobs?", "A secure job," "Wow, which (hospital)?" In response to the outside world's belief that her honorary title would bring a high salary, Leung replied uniformly: "not a paid position," meaning she doesn't get paid, which is quite surprising.

Leung is not studying speech therapy for money. She has said that she hopes to accumulate enough experience to open her own speech therapy clinic, to help children and vulnerable communities with speech impairments who have no economic means at affordable prices or even for free, to give back to society.
