The Expo 2025 (Osaka Expo) officially opened on the morning of April 13, and the site was crowded with people, with long lines everywhere. It was estimated that the number of people entering the venue on the first day was over 140,000. Some people have noticed that even Kura Sushi, which is labeled as having the "world's longest" turnaround belt, is hard to find a seat, and customers have to wait for 8 hours to be seated at noon; not only that, the network at the entrance to the Expo is almost paralyzed, and officials have reminded the public to "please don't watch the movie as much as possible".
According to MBS NEWS and other Japanese media reports, on the first day of the Osaka Expo, the east and west entrances were filled with people waiting to get in. Although the organizer boasted that this year's Expo would not have to
queue up, people were still required to scan the QR code at the entrance and undergo a security check in order to enter the Expo.
Osaka Expo announced on their website that they had noticed a situation that "prevented people from entering the Expo", and that between 9:30 am and 2:30 pm on April 13, many mobile phone signals had deteriorated, resulting in delays in the display of the QR Code at the entrance, so they reminded people to "please refrain from watching the video as much as possible".
Expo Osaka also expressed the hope that visitors could print out the QR Code of their tickets in advance or take a screenshot of it directly from their cell phones and show it at the entrance to speed up the overall entrance.
In addition, even before the noon meal time, the line for Kura Sushi in the venue was already full, and people had to wait until 8:00 pm before they could be seated, while 279 groups of guests were waiting for their seats at the Kura Sushi in the venue.
By 3:00 pm, the rain had gradually intensified, and people were leaving the venue. Many people complained on social media platforms that the east exit was blocked, that they could not move at all, that they could not get on the bus, that it was cold, and that it took 2 hours to get from the queue to the entrance of the bus station.
According to reports, today (April 14) is the second day of the Osaka Expo, and even though it was not yet time to enter, there was already a long line of people at the entrance of Yumeshima Station to the Expo.
