Is the car door deadlocked?
The family members of the victim claimed that the car door was locked after the accident, making it impossible for the passenger to open the door to escape. Xiaomi staff said that the storage compartments underneath the interior panels of the four doors are equipped with mechanical emergency pullers, which can be used to pull open the doors in case of emergency.
Xiaomi responded that since it had not yet accessed the vehicle in the accident, it could not analyze whether the doors could be opened during the accident, and did not have an accurate conclusion on this.
Why did it burn?
It is suspected that the battery pack was severely damaged in the crash, and Xiaomi said that the fire was caused by "damage to the system as a result of the crash".
