In a record-breaking purchase, Satish, a renowned breeder from Bengaluru, India, has bought the world's most expensive dog for US$5.7 million (over HK$40 million). The dog, named Cadaboms Okami, is an 8-month-old wolf-dog hybrid born in the US, bred from a wolf and a Caucasian Shepherd Dog.
Weighing over 165 pounds (approximately 75 kilograms) at just eight months old, Okami requires a daily diet of three kilograms of raw meat. Satish, aged 51, shared that Okami is an extraordinary canine, and he was willing to pay a premium price to bring such a unique animal to India. He expressed his love for dogs and his passion for introducing rare breeds to the country.
As a part-Caucasian Shepherd, Okami is a natural guardian breed, known for its protective instincts and intelligence. Satish owns a 7-acre farm dedicated to housing his pets, and he earns a living by showcasing rare dog breeds.
Since purchasing Okami in February, Satish has taken the dog to various high-profile events, including movie premieres, where Okami has walked the red carpet. A video of Okami's red carpet appearance has garnered over 3 million views online.
Satish revealed that Okami's public appearance fees range from US$2,800 for 30 minutes to US$11,700 for five hours.
