On Sunday (March 16), the jackpot for the Mark Six lottery reached HK$72 million. After the draw, a man from Hong Kong posted a betting screenshot on social media, showing that he had chosen all six winning numbers. However, he was unable to claim the prize for one reason.
For the 2025 No.29 Mark Six Draw, the winning numbers were 29, 30, 36, 41, 48, and 49, with the special number being 14. There was one jackpot winner, receiving HK$72,097,390; three second prizes were awarded, each receiving HK$1,715,040; and 149 third prizes were awarded, each receiving HK$92,080.
After the draw, the man posted a screenshot from the HKJC app showing the winning numbers he picked. However, he was unable to claim the prize.
The screenshot revealed that he chose the numbers 29, 30, 36, 41, 48, and 49, which matched the winning numbers. However, he purchased at 9:15 pm on March 16, 2025, which was after the deadline for placing bets, so his selected numbers were not accepted. The screenshot also indicated "bet not accepted", meaning he just missed out on the jackpot.

Netizens discussed the post extensively, with many expressing sympathy, saying things like, "What bad luck, they wouldn't let you buy" and "So tragic; I wouldn't feel this sad even if I only matched two numbers." However, some netizens questioned the authenticity of the betting screenshot, suspecting it might be photoshopped, commenting, "The numbers are inconsistent; you should edit it better next time," "That '2' is so peculiar," and "Be more professional and include the time next time, please," along with, "I definitely don't believe someone who can't place a bet would post a screenshot."
Additionally, some netizens quickly countered with their own experiences, stating, "I couldn't buy at 9:15 pm, I tried yesterday, and it said the lottery was already closed for betting."
