Recently, Sunny Bay in Hong Kong has been seeing frequent appearances of groupings resembling "green noodles," drawing significant attention from netizens.
A resident shared a photo online, asking others to identify the mysterious organism. Its resemblance to green noodles led to a flurry of humorous comments.
Netizens joked, saying things like, "The Sea Dragon King is having a party, cooking spinach noodles," "I thought it was sour candy strips," and "Add some soy sauce and give it a taste!" However, some offered more serious insights, identifying it as a sea hare. They explained that these creatures commonly gather on Hong Kong's beaches around this time to mate and lay eggs, urging others not to mistake them for garbage.
Government authorities clarified that the organism in question is the egg mass of a sea slug, which is commonly found during the spring breeding season. They advised the public not to touch the egg masses if encountered in the wild, as it could lead to discomfort.
