According to data from online platforms, as of March 1 at 12:26 AM, the total box office gross of Ne Zha 2 has surpassed 14.16 billion yuan (including overseas and pre-sale tickets), exceeding the box office performance of Spider-Man: No Way Home, making it the 7th highest-grossing film in global box office history.
Since its release on the first day of the Lunar New Year, Ne Zha 2 has broken multiple film records, becoming the first film in Chinese history to surpass 10 billion yuan at the box office and topping the global animated film box office rankings.
According to the overseas distributor, Huayi Brothers, as of Feb. 27, Ne Zha 2 was screened in over 1,000 theaters in North America, breaking the record for the number of screenings for Chinese mainland films in nearly 20 years and becoming the highest-grossing Chinese-language film (excluding co-productions) in that timeframe. In New Zealand, its box office surpassed Captain America: Civil War, and also became the highest-grossing Chinese-language film in New Zealand's history.
