The "Hong Kong Holiday and Travel Expo 2025," organized by the Exhibition Group and co-organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, took place from Feb. 20 to 23, drawing record attendance with a 27% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Tommy Tam, Chairman of the Hong Kong Tourism Board, expressed satisfaction with the foot traffic and sales results reported by exhibitors, noting that visitors left the event pleased with their experiences. He hopes that the Exhibition Group will continue to provide high-quality travel shopping experiences for tourists in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, offering more discounts and further establishing the spring and autumn exhibitions as popular events for travelers.
During the expo, the Tourism Board launched a new series of travel short films titled "3-5 Combo - Deep Travel," showcasing the rich resources of local tourism in Hong Kong from various perspectives.
Given the recent rise in fraudulent advertisements and fake Facebook pages, many travel agencies and consumers have been affected. The Hong Kong Police Force set up a booth to promote its one-stop scam detection tool, "Scameter," reminding the public to stay vigilant when planning their travels to avoid scams. Tam also advised consumers to inquire about and purchase travel products directly from licensed travel agencies at the event to prevent falling victim to fraud and incurring losses.
