
The government announced today (Feb. 20) that the Financial Secretary, Paul Chan, has reappointed Carlson Tong and Joseph Yam as members of the board of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEX).
Additionally, Ding Chen has been appointed to the HKEX board. These appointments will take effect after the company's annual general meeting in 2025 and will last until the conclusion of the 2027 annual general meeting, with a term of approximately two years.
Paul Chan highlighted that Ms. Ding has extensive experience in the financial services industry, particularly in asset and wealth management. Her deep understanding of the securities market and broad connections with market participants will aid HKEX in diversifying its offerings to meet the needs of different issuers and investors, enhancing Hong Kong's position as a global fundraising center.
Chan also expressed heartfelt gratitude to outgoing director Nisa Leung for her contributions to the development of HKEX over the years.
