In a surprise appearance, Ekin Cheng returned to the stage in a traditional costume more than ten years after his last performance. Dressed as "Nie Feng," with long hair cascading down his shoulders, he captivated the audience at the Hong Kong Dance Company's charity performance of the comic-inspired martial arts dance drama "STORM CLOUDS," where he performed a song. The crowd erupted in cheers.
Lawrence Cheng, known for his role as "Wen Chou Chou" in the film, served as the storyteller for the dance drama. His signature laughter instantly transported the audience into the world of "STORM CLOUDS."
Celebrating the 35th anniversary of the classic Hong Kong comic "STORM CLOUDS," the Hong Kong Dance Company staged the dance drama for the third time from Feb. 14 to 16 at the Xiqu Centre in West Kowloon Cultural District. The premiere, designated as a charity performance, allocated all donations, beyond the ticket sales, to support the Hong Kong Dance Student Ticket Fund, promoting education and the preservation of dance arts in Hong Kong.
