Hong Kong residents can now benefit from the "State Subsidy" program launched by China's National Development and Reform Commission and the Ministry of Finance. This initiative offers financial incentives for purchasing digital products and home appliances, with potential savings of up to ¥2,000 per transaction.
Subsidy Details
Recently, Shenzhen has rolled out an online and offline subsidy program for digital products and home appliances, consisting of two major categories:
- Trade-in Subsidy for Home Appliances – Maximum subsidy of ¥2,000 per unit.
- New Purchase Subsidy for Digital Products – Covers 15% of the product price, with a maximum subsidy of ¥500 per item.
Eligible digital products include:
- Smartphones
- Tablets
- Smartwatches & Fitness Bands
Eligible home appliances include:
- Televisions
- Computers
- Refrigerators
- Washing Machines
- Air Conditioners
- Water Heaters
- Kitchen Appliances (Rice Cookers, Microwaves, Dishwashers, etc.)
How Hong Kong Residents Can Apply
Hong Kong residents holding a Home Return Permit can apply for the subsidy between now and December 31, 2025. The application process is conducted via the UnionPay mobile app using a Mainland China phone number and a Mainland China bank or credit card.
Step-by-Step Guide to Claim the Subsidy:
- Download and install the "Cloud QuickPass" App.
- Complete real-name verification in the app.
- Navigate to the "State Government Subsidy Zone" and select the Shenzhen region.
- Click on "Pengcheng Coupons" and proceed with the application.
- Register with a Mainland China phone number.
- Link a Mainland China bank card or credit card.
- Select the desired product category and claim the subsidy coupon.
- Enter personal details, including name, phone number, and Home Return Permit number.
- Sign and submit the electronic acknowledgment to receive the coupon.
Important Notes:
- Coupons must be used within 72 hours after claiming.
- The final application deadline is December 31, 2025.
- The subsidy is valid at designated retail stores in Shenzhen and other eligible regions.
