The Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service announced that 875 bags of blood were successfully collected yesterday (Jan. 31). In view of the extremely low level of the blood bank's stock, with only about two days of stock remaining, the public is urged to donate blood.
The Mobile Blood Donation Vehicle will provide service today (Feb. 1) at lay-by outside Trend Plaza, Tuen Shun Street, Tuen Mun.
The center pointed out that it is now the peak season of influenza in winter, public hospitals are at the peak of service demand, the number of consultations and admissions soaring, the demand for blood has increased sharply, and many enthusiastic citizens have to hold off on donating blood due to influenza, which greatly reduces the amount of blood collected.
