The Mark Six Chinese New Year Snowball draw for the Mark Six Lottery will be held on Feb. 2 (the fifth day of the Lunar New Year), featuring a special jackpot of HK$150 million. If a single bet of HK$10 wins, the estimated jackpot prize can reach up to HK$188 million, making it the highest jackpot prize in history. It is also the largest-scale New Year Snowball draw event ever.
The tickets went on sale after the draw on Jan. 25 (last Saturday) evening. Yesterday (Jan. 27) was the first working day since the sale began, and a DDN journalist visited the Hong Kong Jockey Club's Central Stanley Street Shop at noon. There, he observed a long line at the entrance and a lively atmosphere among the crowd. Some attendees mentioned that although it was a working day, they had some spare time at noon and came to queue up for a chance.
Among the "laid-back lottery players" is a citizen with multiple betting experiences. He mentioned that although he placed five bets this time, he did not have a preferred "lucky number," and remained quite calm during the betting period. He stated that if he won, he would use the prize money to do some things he "couldn't do before."

Tony, who has lived in Hong Kong for over 30 years, still showed interest in discussing the betting. (DotDotNews).
At the scene, reporters also noticed some "foreign faces." Tony described himself as "excited" while placing his bets due to the substantial prize, saying that even the process of queuing is enjoyable. He indicated that he was already familiar with the Mark Six and had tried it several times. He also mentioned that if he wins a big prize, he would use the winnings to give back to his family and help others in need.
Coincidentally, another player at the scene displayed a similar "charitable" spirit. Betting HK$70, he didn't mind the "lucky number," joking that if he were fortunate enough to win, he would share it with those around him and donate 10% to charity, which drew agreement from others.
The journalist observed that from 12:15 PM to 2 PM, there were still many citizens queuing outside the betting station. Because it was a working day, most lottery players appeared hurried, though some were taking photos with their tickets as mementos.
According to past data, the Central Stanley Street Shop has produced 47 Mark Six jackpot winners since 1994, the highest number among all shops and betting stations in Hong Kong.
