Chief Executive John Lee and government officials will embark on a four-day community visit from today (Jan. 25) to Jan. 28, to visit neighborhoods and inquire about the living conditions of grassroots families, celebrating the Lunar New Year together. Today, Lee, accompanied by the Secretary for Home Affairs and the Secretary for Youth Affairs, led a caring team to visit grassroots families in Oi Man Estate in Ho Man Tin and also visited the shops in the estate.
Around 1:40 PM, Lee arrived at Oi Man Estate, warmly waving to passersby along the way and greeting them with "Happy Chinese New Year." He first visited two elderly residents living alone, spending about half an hour offering his greetings to the elderly before the Chinese New Year.
Later, Lee bought two portions of turnip cake from a shop, saying "Good things come in pairs." He mentioned that he had inquired with the shop owners and learned that the business was meeting expectations. He also mentioned that he would share the turnip cakes with his wife.
