Severe traffic congestion was reported this morning (Jan. 24) at the intersection of Aberdeen Praya Road and Tin Wan Hill Road in Aberdeen, Hong Kong. The cause of the gridlock appears to be ongoing road maintenance, which has reduced the already narrow road to a single lane, resulting in slow-moving traffic.
On-site observations by reporters revealed a queue of vehicles stretching hundreds of meters, with police officers present at the scene to maintain order.
Adding to the chaos, a vehicle broke down at the exit of the bus terminal at Chi Fu Fa Yuen, further exacerbating the traffic woes in the surrounding areas. Although the vehicle was eventually removed, traffic heading towards Tin Wan and Aberdeen intensified, worsening the already severe congestion. Public bus routes, including 38/37A and 95C, were among those affected by the delays.
