Watch This | Pakistani motorcycle rider dies after collision with goods vehicle in Tung Chung

At 8:50 AM today (Jan. 23), a motorcycle and a goods vehicle collided while traveling along Tung Chung Road towards South Lantau. The Pakistani rider fell and was seriously injured. Rescue personnel were dispatched to the scene and transported the male victim to North Lantau Hospital for emergency treatment, but he was ultimately pronounced dead. The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.

According to reports from the scene, there are several bends in the area, leading to a straight road once exited. At the time of the incident, the motorcycle was descending towards North Lantau and allegedly crossed into oncoming traffic, colliding with the goods vehicle heading towards Mui Wo. The front of the goods vehicle was severely damaged, and the windshield shattered.

The Transport Department stated that due to the traffic accident, a single-lane, two-way traffic measure has been implemented near Shek Mun Kap on Tung Chung Road.
