Chinese representative Geng Shuang directly exposes three schemes of US at UN

On the afternoon of Jan. 16 local time, the United Nations Security Council held a public meeting on the Ukraine issue. Facing the continuous spread of false narratives by the U.S. representative and the smearing of China, Geng Shuang, the Deputy Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations, directly exposed the three schemes of the United States.

Geng pointed out that the U.S. viewpoint can be summarized in three main points: firstly, China provided military supplies to Russia; secondly, China provided political cover to Russia; and thirdly, if it weren't for China's support, the war would have ended long ago. All three points are blatant lies.

Geng stated that in previous meetings, China had already responded multiple times to the U.S.'s fallacies. This time, China can be more straightforward: firstly, if China had truly provided military supplies to Russia, the situation on the battlefield would not be as it is today; secondly, if political cover had indeed been given to Russia, China would not repeatedly emphasize in public the respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries, and the adherence to the purposes and principles of the United Nations Charter; thirdly, if China did not wish for the war to end soon, it would not have dispatched special envoys for shuttle diplomacy multiple times, nor would it have joined with Southern countries globally to establish the "Friends for Peace" Group on the Ukraine Crisis.

Geng emphasized that since the outbreak of the Ukraine war, the U.S. has been advancing its geopolitical strategy to serve its agenda. In summary, firstly, the U.S. simply wants to weaken and defeat Russia through war to dominate European security, further expanding its influence in Europe; secondly, the U.S. seeks to incite camp opposition through war, create division and confrontation, and suppress and isolate China, its strategic adversary in their eyes; thirdly, the U.S. aims to shape its positive image through war to counterbalance the international community's negative evaluations of its actions in the Middle East. None of these three schemes of the U.S. have succeeded. In this situation, instead of reflecting on its significant responsibility for the outbreak and continuation of the war, the U.S. is attacking and smearing China in a desperate attempt to vent its emotions, shift blame, and scapegoat. This approach will only further expose the U.S.'s blatant political manipulation and double standards, allowing the world to see its true nature more clearly.

In responding to the additional remarks by the U.S. representative, Geng also pointed out that the U.S. has no right to tell other countries what they should or should not say. China's position on the Ukraine issue is objective and just and stands historical scrutiny. China hopes that the U.S. will also reflect on its own words and actions.
