According to CCTV news, this morning, Jan. 17, the State Council Information Office held a press conference to introduce the country's economic performance in 2024.
Officials from the National Bureau of Statistics stated that based on preliminary calculations, the gross domestic product (GDP) for 2024 amounted to 1,349,084 billion yuan. Calculated at constant prices, this represents a 5.0% increase compared to the previous year. Looking at the quarterly breakdown, in the first quarter, the GDP grew by 5.3% year-on-year, in the second quarter by 4.7%, in the third quarter by 4.6%, and in the fourth quarter by 5.4%.
