Yangjiabu Woodblock New Year Paintings are a traditional form of folk printmaking originating from Yangjiabu in Weifang City, Shandong Province. They began to flourish during the Qianlong and Jiaqing periods of the Qing Dynasty and reached their peak during the Xianfeng period. At that time, the local area was home to hundreds of painting shops and thousands of painting designs. Yangjiabu Woodblock New Year Paintings were widely produced and became popular across much of China.
