The results of the record-breaking highest jackpot Mark Six lottery were announced last night (Jan. 7), with two winning tickets for the HK$1.28 billion prize. Among them, someone walked away with HK$69.23 million with a 10-dollar ticket. Today (Jan. 8), rumors spread online that the lucky winner is a member of the Small Boat Division of the Marine Region, and a screenshot of the winning ticket is circulating within the police force.
According to Sing Tao Daily, the 36-year-old winner of the Mark Six is surnamed Lam. Recently, in his spare time, he purchased a Mark Six lottery ticket online and won HK$69.23 million with a HK$10 bet. Reports suggest that the winner has immediately applied for leave to 'enjoy life.'
If the information is confirmed, it would mean another police officer hitting a jackpot in the Mark Six lottery. Back in 1995, former Commissioner of Police Dick Lee Ming-kwai also won a HK$38 million jackpot with colleagues, receiving approximately HK$7 million.
The winning numbers for the Mark Six lottery last night were: 8, 13, 18, 23, 31, and 47, with the special number being 16.
