Cruise Ship 'Piano Land' returns to HK as homeport, expected to attract 80,000 visitors annually
The mainland's cruise ship "Piano Land" is making its post-pandemic return to Hong Kong, officially designating the city as its homeport starting this April. An inaugural ceremony was held this morning (Jan. 1) at the Ocean Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui, marking the ship's re-entry into the HK market and the launch of new international routes.
Commissioner for Tourism, Cheung Fung Wing-ping, said that the "Piano Land" is expected to offer 70 sailings annually, bringing in a total of 80,000 visitors. She highlighted that the cruise will inject new energy into the tourism industry. She also noted that the mainland's recent policy changes will allow mainland travelers to join cruise tours via transit through HK, positioning the city as a key destination for international cruise operators developing itineraries across HK and the mainland.
