Experience fall colors at Tai Tong Sweet Gum Woods: Come and see carnival, guided tours & travel tips!

With recent cold weather, the leaves at Tai Tong Sweet Gum Woods in Yuen Long have turned a stunning red, marking the perfect season for leaf-peeping enthusiasts! The Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department announced yesterday (Dec. 27) that the "Red Leaves Index" has reached its highest level, "Red," meaning most leaves have changed color. Visitors can check the latest updates on its website.

To celebrate, the special carnivals will take place from Dec. 14, 2024, to Jan. 1, 2025, on weekends and public holidays from 10:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Activities, including photo exhibitions, game booths and hiking etiquette promotion promise fun and great photo opportunities. Additionally, the "Country Parks Highlights: Nature Interpretation" runs daily from December 2024 to January 2025 between 10:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

Travel tips for visiting Tai Tong Sweet Gum Woods

Route 1: MTR Long Ping Station → Special K66A Bus 

To accommodate visitors, the MTR Bus is launching the special K66A route from Long Ping Station directly to Tai Tong Shan Road from Dec. 7, 2024, to Jan. 12, 2025. It operates on weekends and public holidays. After alighting at Tai Tong Shan Road Station, visitors can reach the Sweet Gum Woods by walking uphill along Tai Tong Shan Road for around 45 minutes.

Route 2: MTR Long Ping Station → K66 Bus

Take the K66 bus from Long Ping Station (Exit B2) at Ping Cheong Path to Tai Tong Shan Road Station. From there, walk along Tai Tong Shan Road for about 45 minutes to reach the Sweet Gum Woods.

Route 3: MTR Yuen Long Station → Minibus

From Yuen Long Station (Exit E or G1), walk to the Yuen Long minibus terminal via a nearby alley or take the light rail to Tai Tong Road Station. From the terminal, board a minibus heading to Tai Tong Shan Road. After alighting, walk uphill for around 45 minutes to the Sweet Gum Woods.
