West Kowloon Cultural District: Over 150,000 visitors in past two days
The West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD) said today (Dec. 26) that a number of activities during the Christmas festivities attracted a large number of visitors.
On Christmas Eve (Dec. 24) and Christmas Day (Dec. 25) alone, more than 150,000 people visited the WKCD to celebrate the festive season.
The West Kowloon Cultural District authority and the police will continue to implement crowd management measures in the WKCD today (Dec. 26), taking into account the actual crowd situation.
Depending on the actual crowd situation, the police will implement one-way crowd management measures on the Artist Square Bridge, which connects Kowloon Station with the WKCD, in the evening today. The bridge will only be used as an exit for visitors leaving the WKCD. Visitors to the Art Park can enter the Art Park via Exits E4 and E5 of the MTR Kowloon Station and follow the on-site instructions along Museum Drive.
The roads in the vicinity of the WKCD, including Museum Drive, were very busy in the past two days. The authority strongly advises the public to take public transport as far as possible and avoid driving to the WKCD.
The Police may, having regard to the actual traffic conditions, implement temporary traffic control measures on Museum Drive, especially during peak periods (e.g. before and after the Winter Harbourfront Pyrotechnics) to alleviate the traffic pressure.
