
On Dec. 25, a gas explosion at a shopping center in Vladikavkaz, the capital of Russia's North Ossetia Republic, resulted in a fire and multiple casualties.
According to the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies and Disaster Relief (MChS), the incident was caused by a natural gas explosion within the shopping center, injuring nine people. At the time of the explosion, the shopping center was closed for business, and the injured included staff members and passersby.
Additionally, the leader of North Ossetia has reported that the incident has resulted in one confirmed death. Rescue operations are ongoing as authorities assess the situation.
