According to the Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK)'s website on Dec. 24, today is Christmas Eve and a large number of people choose to travel on the holiday. As all long-term parking spaces for private cars at the airport are full, the AAHK advises the public to choose public transportation to the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) during the Christmas period to avoid unnecessary delays.
According to the AAHK's estimation, the one-day passenger throughput of the HKIA during the Christmas period will be close to 200,000, reaching the pre-epidemic level. To ensure smooth travel for passengers, the AAHK advises the public to give priority to using public transportation such as the Airport Express and buses.
In addition, to cope with the peak passenger traffic during the holiday season, the airport has increased manpower and opened all security checkpoints to ensure that a large number of passengers can be served at the same time.
