GBA's one-hour living circle reflects development, fostering cultural exchanges between Mainland and HK: John Lee
In a speech at the second Business Conference on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Development today (Dec. 11), Chief Executive John Lee stated that the Greater Bay Area has been developing over the years, becoming a strategic base for the country's new development pattern. Hong Kong, as one of the central cities in the Greater Bay Area is an active participant, promoter, and beneficiary of its development.
John Lee pointed out that the Greater Bay Area is the most economically vibrant and open region in the country, with thriving state-owned and private enterprises and strong innovation capabilities. The nine mainland cities in the Greater Bay Area represent the mainland's most outward-looking economic area and an important window for external openness, rich in innovative elements. Meanwhile, Hong Kong serves as an international financial, shipping, and trade center, with one of the world's top business environments.
He emphasized that the GBA's advantages are evident, and efforts will be made to establish a connected city cluster. The one-hour living circle reflects its development, with Hong Kong residents frequently traveling north to shop and mainland residents heading south for tourism and shopping, fostering cultural exchanges between the mainland and Hong Kong.
