Japan's popular manga Hunter x Hunter announced today (Dec. 9) that it will go on hiatus once again. The manga's creator, Yoshihiro Togashi, has suffered from chronic back diseases for many years and often takes breaks due to health reasons, with fans once waiting four years for new content.
The series resumed serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump starting Oct. 7, intending to run for three months. However, after releasing chapters 401 to 410, the official announcement stated that it will be on hiatus again. While Togashi usually faces criticism for taking breaks, this time he has received warm responses from fans who tell him to take a good rest.
Togashi's current hiatus had been anticipated, as he recently revealed on social media platform X that he underwent a local anesthesia procedure and is in a post-surgery recovery phase. Despite concerns about his health, he continues to work on storyboarding. He mentioned that although he cannot start drawing yet, he has been brainstorming story ideas and has already prepared drafts up to chapter 413.
