Trump to fulfill promise to raise tariffs
Donald Trump said on Dec. 8 (local time ) that he'll fulfill his campaign promise to impose tariffs on imports from America's largest trading partner. But he can't guarantee that his promised tariffs on key US foreign trade partners won't raise prices for American consumers and he suggested once more that some political rivals and federal officials who pursued legal cases against him should be imprisoned.
Immigration is one of the central issues in Trump's campaign, with Trump saying he plans to deport millions of illegal immigrants and try to revoke birthright citizenship.
On foreign policy, Trump said he is actively working to end the war and that Ukraine "probably" won't get as much military aid from the US when he is in power again. He also said that he would not commit to keeping the US in North Atlantic Treaty Organization unless "they can afford to pay the bill".
In addition, Trump said he would work to extend the tax cuts he passed in his first term, would not seek to impose restrictions on abortion pills, and would pardon those convicted of the Jan. 6 US Capitol attack incident.
