The extremist group known as the "Dragon Slaying Brigade" conspired with other radical factions to carry out a series of bombings and police shootings during a protest on Dec. 8, 2019, in Wan Chai. After a lengthy trial, nine defendants were found guilty. The mastermind and bomb-maker, Ng Chi-hung, was sentenced to 23 years and 10 months, while Wong Chun-keung, the leader of the "Dragon Slaying Brigade," received a prison sentence of 13 years and 6 months.
