TraHK has become largest ETF in HK: Paul Chan
This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Tracker Fund of Hong Kong ("TraHK") 's listing.
Financial Secretary Paul Chan attended the celebration and stated that the fund was the largest exchange-traded fund (ETF) in Asia outside Japan at its launch, with an issuance scale of HK$33.3 billion. Its market value has grown more than threefold, making it the largest ETF in Hong Kong.
Chan noted that the ETF market has developed rapidly since the fund was included in the Stock Connect program in 2022. Efforts have been made to expand the market and strengthen international networks to attract more global capital, including the listing of related products on the Stock Exchange of Thailand and the Saudi Exchange.
He emphasized that Hong Kong will continue to attract global and mainland capital to consolidate its status as an international financial center.
