Harbour swimming race canceled due to typhoon, all entry fees to be refunded
The Hong Kong China Swimming Association announced today (Nov. 9) that in view of the tropical cyclone warning issued by the Hong Kong Observatory will continue for a period of time, which will affect the weather conditions, and in order to protect the safety of participants and staff, the Association has decided to cancel the New World Harbour Race 2024 scheduled to be held on Nov. 10 (Sunday) after careful consideration and all the participants will be refunded all the fees they have paid.
Due to the cancellation of the event, the following refunds will be made to swimmers who have been confirmed as participants in the event:
- Entry fee (HK$350)
- Water test fee (HK$150)
- Additional HK$100 charitable donation from swimmers (if applicable)
The Organizer will announce the refund arrangement through the website of New World Harbour Race 2024 and inform all swimmers who have confirmed their qualification by email. The Association will announce the arrangements for next year's race in due course.
The Hong Kong China Swimming Association appreciates the full support of the relevant government departments, sponsors and supporting organizations. It apologizes for the inconvenience caused by the cancellation of this year's event due to inclement weather and hopes that swimmers will continue to support the New World Harbour Race in the coming year.
