MTR to offer free rides for seniors on Nov. 17
The MTR Corporation will offer free rides to seniors aged 65 and above on Senior Citizens Day (Nov. 17).
Seniors who are 65 years old or above can travel for free on the MTR, light rail, and MTR buses by using their JoyYou Card or Octopus Card on Nov. 17. Eligible passengers using any of these cards will not be charged any fare when entering or exiting MTR stations, light rail stations, or when boarding MTR buses.
However, this offer does not extend to the Airport Express, cross-boundary services between Lo Wu and Lok Ma Chau stations on the East Rail Line, or the high-speed rail. Additionally, seniors traveling in first class on the East Rail Line will still need to pay the first-class premium.
