PS5 Pro launched on Nov. 7 with major performance upgrades
Sony's enhanced gaming console, the PlayStation 5 Pro, will officially go on sale on Nov. 7. The new model significantly boosts hardware performance, achieving notable improvements in image clarity, smoothness of visuals, and overall hardware capability.
The PS5 Pro is equipped with 67% more Compute Units and 28% faster memory speeds, which collectively increase game rendering speeds by up to 45%. Advanced ray tracing technology enhances the detail of light reflections and refractions in the visuals, speeding up light processing by two to three times, and resulting in highly realistic visual effects. Additionally, the PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR), powered by AI-driven super-resolution technology, uses machine learning to enhance image quality.
The PS5 Pro supports displays at 60Hz and 120Hz and is compatible with ray tracing-enabled games, allowing players to experience realistic visuals and smooth gameplay at 60fps or up to 120fps on 4K TVs. The console comes with a 2TB SSD and supports the latest Wi-Fi 7 technology, which helps reduce latency in multiplayer games.
The PlayStation 5 Pro is priced at HK$5,780 in Hong Kong.
