The Strive and Rise Program has started recruiting 4,000 mentees for the third cohort today. (Strive and Rise Programme)

The Strive and Rise Programme has started recruiting 4,000 mentees for the third cohort today (Oct. 31).

Secondary One to Secondary Four students from underprivileged families, particularly those living in subdivided units, may submit applications through the Programme's mobile application starting today and approach their schools or the non-governmental organizations that assist the Government in implementing the program (see Annex) for inquiries if more information or assistance is required. Applications will close on Nov. 20.

The Program is formulated and implemented by an interdepartmental task force led by the Chief Secretary for Administration. Through tripartite collaboration among the Government, the business sector, and the community, the Program provides focused support for Secondary One to Secondary Four students from underprivileged families, particularly those living in subdivided units.

It comprises three key elements, namely mentorship, personal development plans, and financial support. Through a one-year intensive foundation training that includes mentorship and a structured program covering orientation, basic training, diverse group activities, Mainland study, exchange tours, etc., the Program will help mentees broaden their horizons, reinforce self-confidence, develop a positive outlook on life, set goals for the future and strive for upward mobility.

In addition, the program will provide start-up financial support of HK$5,000 for mentees to implement their personal development plans under the guidance of their mentors. Upon successful completion of the program, a scholarship of $5,000 will be awarded to the mentees for their pursuits by applying the financial planning concepts that they have learned.

Upon successful completion of the one-year intensive foundation training of the program, mentees will automatically become members of the Alumni Club, where they will continue to expand their social network and horizons by participating in diverse activities and job tasting/internship programs.

For more information about the application details of the third cohort and the mobile application of the program, please visit the designated website.
