Ocean Park Hong Kong today (Oct. 24) unveiled the design details for its much-anticipated new "Adventure Zone," which is scheduled to open to the public in 2028. The Adventure Zone will be located in the park's highlands area, situated along the scenic coastal ridges, offering visitors expansive views of the South China Sea. It will encompass approximately 120,000 square meters.
The Adventure Zone aims to further enhance Ocean Park's appeal as a premier leisure and entertainment landmark in the southern part of HK Island. It will offer unique experiences for visitors of all ages and interests, blending seamlessly with the park's natural topography and breathtaking surroundings to create a fresh and exciting attraction for both local and overseas visitors.
The Adventure Zone will be divided into three meticulously designed areas, each taking full advantage of the park's natural slopes and stunning vistas. One of the highlights is a pair of 1,000-meter-long ziplines that will soar across the park's water attractions and jungle-like areas, located at the former site of the "Boardwalk Café." Visitors can also look forward to a tandem bungee jump and a dual sky swing, both of which will be built on the site of the former "Raging River". Additionally, the "Mine Train" area will be transformed into a ropes course, with a neighboring alpine coaster adding to the adrenaline-fueled fun.
The park's design concept embodies a commitment to optimize land use and minimize environmental impact by revitalizing the park's existing infrastructure for new uses. The adventure-themed area is scheduled to open to the public in 2028 and visitors will be able to purchase a separate ticket to experience the new park.
