Chief Executive John Lee stated at a press conference before the Executive Council meeting today (Oct. 22) that four drivers have already been penalized since the implementation of the Taxi-Driver-Offence Points Ordinance last month. The government continues to crack down on illegal activities and will publicize the outcomes.

Lee emphasized the public's desire for a better taxi environment and mentioned that the government would provide more information to make taxi fare details more transparent.

Lee discussed considering more transport options at tourist hotspots to meet societal needs. Future considerations include installing dash cams in taxis, with further research and confirmation needed on this measure. Regarding taxi fleets, Lee indicated plans to launch them by early or mid-next year, aiming to provide higher-quality taxi services to the community.
