Someone from the mainland who had joined tour groups posted online that they were required to pay an entry fee when entering Macao casinos. However, their tour guide stated that this was mandated by the Macao Special Administrative Region government.

Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes, Director of the Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO), stated yesterday (October 20) that the authorities are aware of these online comments and are currently investigating. She also pointed out that low-priced tour groups are often the source of many issues and urged travelers not to choose them.

She indicated that the authorities would determine whether the behavior was from local travel agencies or tour guides. If it is found that local travel agencies spread incorrect information, fines will be imposed. Depending on the severity of the situation, this may also affect the renewal of the involved travel agency's license. If tour guides are involved, there will be additional penalties.

She emphasized that the Tourism Office, in addition to its own inspections, collaborates with relevant departments for joint inspections, highlighting that these efforts have never ceased. Any suspected issues or violations will be reported to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People's Republic of China.
