Policy Address 2024 | John Lee highlights role of West Kowloon Cultural District & Kai Tak Sports Park to boost cultural development
Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee emphasizes the aim of promoting the integrated development of culture, sports, and tourism in the third Policy Address.
He highlights the role of the West Kowloon Cultural District (WKCD), one of the world's largest arts and cultural projects, and Kai Tak Sports Park (KTSP), the largest sports infrastructure project ever commissioned in Hong Kong.
According to Lee, the WKCD Authority will increase efforts to host more major international cultural, creative, and commercial events, attracting more inbound visitors and stimulating local spending.
The inter-departmental Task Force on KTSP, led by the Chief Secretary for Administration, will ramp up efforts in overseeing the smooth completion and commissioning of the KTSP and its publicity work, fostering the synergistic development of major sports events, innovative entertainment, dining, conventions, and exhibitions, as well as tourism activities.
