On Oct. 15, the organizing committee of the 2024 China National Championships announced that top players Wang Chuqin, Sun Yingsha, and Wang Manyu have withdrawn from the team events of the tournament.
In the men's team competition, Wang Chuqin, who was initially set to represent Beijing Baxi, will be replaced by Sun Yang. In the women's team competition, Wang Manyu, originally representing Heilongjiang Yinhe, will be replaced by Ge Chenxi, and Sun Yingsha, who was slated to play for Hebei, will be replaced by Yao Ruixuan.
The China National Championships is the country's longest-standing, largest, and most prestigious table tennis event.
The 2024 China National Championships are being held from Oct. 11 to Oct. 19 in Ordos.
