67-year-old man missing for two days falls into pit, dies
A 67-year-old man Sunday (Oct. 6) left his home in Tuen Mun to the Por Lo Shan area hiking, and then lost track of the night.
He did not return, and his mobile phone signal once appeared in the vicinity of the Ngau Tau Kok, Tsing Tai Stream. His family reported to the police for help and online posting to look for people.
Police, Fire Services Department, Civil Aid Service, and Civilian Search Team Monday night (Oct. 7) climbed the mountain and searched all night. Early this morning (Oct. 8), rescue workers in Tuen Mun Sheung Luk's Four Pools and Ng To Shui near a 2-meter deep pit found the man. Unfortunately, the man was confirmed to have died; Government Flying Service helicopters are being transported away from the body.
The police pointed out that at 10:00 p.m. on Oct. 6, they received a report from the wife of the subject that her husband went out hiking around 9:00 a.m. and returned home in the evening usually, but on that day, he had not been contacted, so they were worried that he might be in danger.
The daughter of the subject posted that her family found that her father's cell phone signal last appeared near Tsing Tai Stream at 11:00 a.m. on that day, and the subject did not bring his wallet and identity card, and only had his phone and Octopus on him.
It is reported that the subject is a salesman, currently in semi-retirement status, hiking in the vicinity of his residence in his spare time, and he has never been to the vicinity of Tsing Tai Stream.
